Fresh figs are available in the summer. Dried figs are available year-round.
Shopping
Look for soft, plump, sweet smelling figs. Make sure the stems are intact. Skin around the stem should slightly shriveled. Avoid dry, bruised, or overly green figs.
Storage
Refrigerate figs up to two days.
