Daikons, Black, Red, White

Availability
Red and White: year-round, peak in spring
Black radishes: peak in winter and early spring.
Daikons: year-round, peak fall and winter

Shopping
Red and White: Look for crisp, green leaves, well-shaped radishes, and good color. The roots should be hard and solid, with a smooth, unblemished surface. Avoid mold.
Black radishes: Look for solid, heavy, radishes free of cracks.
Daikons: evenly shaped, firm, glossy

Storage
Remove tops before storing. Refrigerate red radishes and daikons for up to two weeks. Black radishes can be stored for months if they remain dry. Store them in perforated plastic bags in the refrigerator.
